“Charts '64” derived from my own statistical evaluations of the archive material of “documenta 3” (1964). I aimed to realize a work based on questions asked of the archive, from my individual perspective as a person and an artist. As for me, each documenta exhibition reflects a kind of global view of the art of its time. I decided to create a kind of visual cosmos. I chose the pie chart as the basic form for my drawings. I worked through the material, collected questions, followed up traces.
