Stills (since 2008)

Watercolour and pencil on paper.
Works in this group have different sizes and are composed of several sheets of paper,
each 52 x 72 cm

In winter 2008 I visited my architect friend Antje Freiesleben, on residency at Casa Baldi, in Olevano, Italy. She showed me Rome from the architect's perspective. We were especially captivated by the repetition of forms and patterns of floor plans, architectural details, interiors and wall decorations. I brought back to Berlin, the circle understood as a universal archetype in nature and culture, as well as a colour scale based on red, yellow and blue.

The first two pieces in this series were conceived for "Hybrid", a collaborative exhibition with the architects Modersohn & Freiesleben (Berlin).
