Characters (since 2007)

Watercolour on paper, different sizes

For me drawing, painting and writing have something in common. Brought handwritten with a brush or a pencil on paper the letters are not arranged in a textual readable structure, but generate a visual life of its own.

I use the letters as my tools on the same level as support media, paint, brush, and pen. In some images, it is the German "ß": a ligature of "ss" and "z", in others the Swedish "å ". It is likely that both of these characters will disappear in the future.
